Co-op Assistant Coordinator, Risk

About the role#

Aecon is seeking a Co-op Assistant Coordinator to support the project controls team, with a specific focus on risk management for major projects within the civil east division in Toronto. This is a full-time, paid 8-month co-op position for the Fall 2026 term.

What you'll do#

• Provide support to the project team regarding project control activities and risk management.
• Collaborate with various stakeholders to gather and disseminate risk-related data.
• Assist the Risk Director, Project Managers, and Project Controls Analysts with risk analysis, benchmarking, and documentation initiatives.
• Analyze historical project risk information and maintain risk registers.
• Work with functional groups to provide benchmarking information, gather feedback on risk management accuracy, and support development as needed.
• Present findings to the project team when required.

What you'll need#

• Currently enrolled in a University or Technical College pursuing a degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Construction Management.
• Understanding of project management, project controls, or cost engineering processes.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, including basic presentation abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Advanced Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Bilingualism in French and/or Spanish is considered an asset.
