Co-op, Assistant Coordinator, Cost Controls

About the role#

Aecon is seeking a Co-op Assistant Coordinator for Cost Controls to join the Civil East division in the GTA. This is an 8-month, full-time, paid co-op opportunity for Summer 2026. You will work on-site, supporting project teams with cost-focused control activities and risk management initiatives.

What you'll do#

• Assist the project team with project control activities, specifically focusing on cost.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and share risk-related data.
• Support the Risk Director, Project Managers, and Project Controls Analysts in risk analysis, benchmarking, and documentation.
• Analyze historical project risk information to maintain and manage risk registers.
• Present findings to project teams and provide benchmarking feedback to functional groups.

What you'll need#

• Currently enrolled in a university or technical college program pursuing Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Construction Management.
• Understanding of project management, project controls, or cost engineering processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Advanced Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, including basic presentation abilities.
• A proven track record of good performance and attendance.
• Bilingualism in French is considered an asset.

• Compensation: $23 - $28 per hour.
