Co-op, Assistant Coordinator, Cost Controls

About the role#

Aecon is seeking a Co-op student to join the project controls team for an 8-month term. This role supports major projects within the Civil East division, focusing on cost control and risk management activities.

What you'll do#

• Provide support to the project team for project control activities with a focus on cost.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to gather and disseminate risk-related data.
• Assist the Risk Director, Project Managers, and Project Controls Analysts with risk analysis, benchmarking, and documentation.
• Analyze historical project risk information and maintain risk registers.
• Present findings to the project team as required.
• Work with functional groups to provide benchmarking information and feedback on risk management accuracy.

What you'll need#

• Currently enrolled in a University or Technical College pursuing Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or Business Administration.
• Understanding of project management, project controls, or cost engineering processes.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel (Advanced), Outlook, and PowerPoint.
• Strong communication and organizational skills.
• Proven track record of performance and attendance.
• Basic presentation skills.
• Bilingualism in French is considered an asset.

• Compensation: $23 - $28 per hour.
