Business Analyst, Co-op

About the role#

Aecon Group Inc. is seeking a Business Analyst Co-op student to join the Utilities business unit for the Summer 2026 term. Reporting to the Senior Analyst, this role focuses on performing audits on process compliance and supporting operational efficiency. This is a paid, full-time position based on-site.

What you'll do#

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and document current business processes.
• Observe and report deviations from standard operating procedures.
• Determine root causes for deviations and perform impact analyses.
• Create process documentation, including flowcharts and standard operating procedures.
• Present safety and utilization metrics on weekly equipment calls to operations teams.
• Identify improvement opportunities, develop and present recommendations to management, and monitor implementation.
• Evaluate whether established processes are followed and if intended benefits are realized.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing a degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, Economics, Industrial Engineering, or Logistics.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to multi-task and meet project deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint, and Word.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to interact with all levels of staff and management.
• A methodical and thorough approach to diagnosing problems.
• Experience working with SAP is preferred.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment.
