    About the role#

    The Disability Rights Program offers an internship for law students during the Winter 2027 term. This position is part-time and available on a remote or hybrid basis. Interns support our mission to end discrimination against people with disabilities and ensure full access to education, housing, healthcare, and civic engagement. This role is for course credit only.

    What you'll do#

    Interns work directly with our team on litigation and advocacy efforts. Your daily tasks include:

    • Conducting legal research using internet and legal databases.
    • Drafting legal documents, including memos and portions of court submissions.
    • Performing fact investigations.
    • Assisting with preparations for court cases, such as depositions, oral arguments, hearings, and trials.

    What you'll need#

    We require applicants to be currently matriculated at a U.S. law school and based in the U.S. for the duration of the internship. You should possess:

    • Excellent research, verbal, and written communication skills.
    • Strong attention to detail with effective organization and time-management abilities.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
    • The initiative to see projects through to completion.

    Personal, professional, or academic experience with disability and disability rights is preferred.

    Location & details#

    • Locations: Washington, DC or San Francisco, CA (Remote or hybrid options available).
    • Duration: 12 consecutive weeks starting January 11 or January 25, 2027.
    • Time Commitment: 10, 15, or 20 hours per week.
    • Compensation: This is an unpaid position for course credit only.
