About the role#
As a Manufacturing Engineering Intern, you will work on-site in Miamisburg, Ohio, during the Fall or Winter 2027 terms. This role connects engineering design with daily production execution. You will work alongside engineering and operations teams to support manufacturing projects, improve processes, and manage technical documentation. This is a full-time, paid internship.
What you'll do#
- Learn assigned production areas to understand equipment, workflows, and manufacturing processes.
- Observe operations to identify opportunities for process improvements and efficiency gains.
- Maintain and update work instructions, engineering drawings, and other production documentation.
- Support Epicor ERP infrastructure by managing parts, revisions, jobs, and BOM materials.
- Use CAD software to create and update production-ready drawings.
- Assist with tooling and jig improvement projects by gathering feedback from operators.
- Collaborate with production leaders, maintenance personnel, quality teams, and engineers to resolve daily manufacturing challenges.
- Present your project accomplishments and business impact to operations leadership at the end of the internship.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor degree program for Manufacturing, Industrial, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Completion of at least two years of undergraduate study is preferred.
- Basic knowledge of manufacturing or technical processes gained through coursework or projects.
- Experience with 3D parametric CAD software is preferred.
- Ability to read, interpret, and create technical engineering drawings.
- Understanding of manufacturing tolerances and engineering documentation.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work in an environment that requires a sense of urgency.
Location & details#
- Location: Miamisburg, Ohio (On-site).
- Terms: Fall 2027 or Winter 2027.
- Work environment: You will split time between an office and an active manufacturing floor. The role requires standing and walking on concrete floors, using safety equipment, and occasionally lifting up to 30 pounds.
