About the role#
As a Robotics Software Co-op Student, you will join our software development team to help build systems for our robotic harvesters. You will contribute to the design, development, testing, and deployment of software that powers our technology. This is a hands-on role where you will work across engineering disciplines on tasks ranging from back-end architecture and computer vision to robot controls and user interfaces.
What you'll do#
- Develop and maintain C++ code for robotic and data systems.
- Work with the team on algorithm development for perception and control.
- Write unit tests and conduct code reviews to maintain software quality.
- Assist with integration and testing on real robots in the lab and at farms.
- Support data collection, analysis, and visualization to improve system performance.
- Use modern development tools like Git and Docker within a Linux environment.
- Participate in daily stand-ups, release planning, and design discussions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Computer Science, Software Engineering, Mechatronics, or related co-op program.
- Experience with C++.
- Familiarity with Linux and Git.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Curiosity, initiative, and a willingness to learn.
- Knowledge of Python and Typescript is a bonus.

- Location: Salmon Arm, British Columbia, Canada.
- Term: Winter 2027.
- Modality: On-site.
- Employment: Full-time, paid position.
- Salary: $4,333 to $5,373 per month, depending on experience.
- Additional benefits: Relocation support, paid vacation, statutory holidays, onsite gym, and provided lunches three times a week.
