About the role#
This contract role supports our freeways initiative by helping us integrate external data into our simulation systems. You will work directly with our engineering teams to build software tools, test their output, and help internal teams adopt these new resources. This is a hands-on position where you contribute to real projects alongside our researchers and engineers.
What you'll do#
- Learn how our internal simulation systems function.
- Write software to build simulations using external data sources.
- Review simulation results to identify issues and implement improvements.
- Coordinate with various teams across the company to understand their specific use cases and support their adoption of your tools.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a B.S. or M.S. program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Proficiency in C++ and Python.
- Experience or ability to use Claude Code to drive software development.
- A commitment of at least 20 hours per week for a minimum of six months.
- Ability to work on-site in Foster City, California.
- Willingness to adhere to strict confidentiality requirements regarding proprietary company information.
