About the role#
York Space Systems offers interns the chance to work on actual space missions. You will participate in a tailored engineering training program, receive mentorship from a Senior Engineer, and complete a high-value project during your time with us.
What you'll do#
- Design mechanical solutions for spacecraft flight hardware and mechanical ground support equipment.
- Create designs focused on DFM and DFA principles.
- Perform preliminary FEA, hand calculations, and fastener margin analysis.
- Produce component drawings using GD&T that are cost-effective to manufacture.
- Write assembly drawings, fabrication procedures, and build instructions in coordination with the integration team.
- Complete a defined project that provides value to the company.
- Participate in hands-on assembly and testing tasks.
- Coordinate with various engineering disciplines and project stakeholders.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in a 4-year degree program in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Junior year standing or higher.
- Proficiency in Solidworks or similar CAD software.
- A self-motivated approach and a desire to learn.
- Demonstrated interest in spacecraft and space systems.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- An interest in potential full-time employment at York Space Systems.

- This is a full-time, on-site position located in Greenwood Village, CO.
- The internship is paid.
