About the role#
This is a paid, full-time Summer 2027 internship. You will gain practical knowledge of the tax service industry while working on real client projects. The role includes mentorship from experienced professionals and exposure to a variety of industries.
What you'll do#
- Prepare individual, corporate, and partnership tax returns.
- Calculate tax extensions and estimate payments.
- Research tax laws and regulations to stay current.
- Reconcile account differences and analyze financial data with client personnel.
- Shadow tax professionals across all levels of the firm.
- Attend client meetings alongside YHB managers.
- Collaborate with other interns on a final group project.
What you'll need#
- Coursework completed in Intermediate Accounting 1.
- A basic understanding of accounting practices and tax principles.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Effective problem-solving and time management abilities.
- Pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.

- Work is on-site in Winchester, Middleburg, Fredericksburg, or Roanoke, Virginia.
- This position does not offer sponsorship.
