About the role#
This internship provides an opportunity to support the Corporate Marketing and Communications team at Xcel Energy. You will gain experience in the marketing and communications needs of a large corporation while working on projects related to internal and external messaging, branding, and public relations. This is a paid, full-time position for Summer 2027 with the potential to extend into the school year.
What you'll do#
- Write, coordinate, and publish digital content.
- Create digital signage and visual design assets.
- Assist in planning and executing special events.
- Participate in social media coordination.
- Analyze data and report on campaign outcomes.
- Conduct informational interviews and job shadows to learn how your work supports other areas of the company.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment as a sophomore or higher at an accredited college or university.
- Pursuing a degree in Strategic Communications, Marketing, Advertising, Public Relations, Journalism, or Social Media.
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, plus Teams and SharePoint.
- Interest in leveraging or growing your AI skillset.
- Ability to work full-time during the summer and part-time during the school year.
- Ability to commute to the office for in-person work.

- Pay: $16.60 to $19.50 per hour.
