About the role#
Xcel Energy is hiring a Computer Information Systems Intern to support the Work Management organization at our nuclear plant sites. This is a paid, full-time summer internship for 2027. You will gain practical experience by working with internal teams to improve work management processes. There is a possibility to extend the internship beyond the initial summer term based on your performance and business needs.
What you'll do#
- Develop and maintain interactive dashboards and reports.
- Collect, organize, and analyze data from various sources.
- Design and implement automated reporting processes to reduce manual effort.
- Collaborate with staff to understand business processes and reporting needs.
- Translate data into meaningful visualizations and performance metrics.
- Identify ways to use technology and analytics to improve workflows and operational performance.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an accredited college or university as a Junior or higher.
- Pursuing a degree in Computer Information Systems, Data Science, or Computer Science.
- Completion of at least two years of undergraduate coursework.
- Proficiency with SQL, Power BI, Python, and Excel (including Power Query and Pivot Tables).
- Ability to work full-time during the summer and part-time during the school year.
- Ability to commute in-person to the work location.
