About the role#
As a Retirement Actuarial Intern, you will join our consulting team to support global organizations in managing their employee retirement programs. You will work alongside industry consultants on defined benefit pension and defined contribution plans. This role involves designing, funding, investing, and governing retirement approaches to meet specific client goals.
What you'll do#
- Analyze data, draw conclusions, and present findings to support client needs.
- Gain exposure to real client assignments that require creative problem-solving.
- Learn how various services complement our retirement consulting practice.
- Build technical knowledge and industry expertise through hands-on project work.
What you'll need#
- Progress toward a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in mathematics, statistics, finance, public health, actuarial science, or a related quantitative field, with graduation between December 2027 and August 2028.
- A minimum overall GPA of 3.0.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work as a self-starter both independently and within a team.
- Prior work experience demonstrating technical or client service skills.
- Successful completion of one or more actuarial exams is highly preferred.
- Legal authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without visa sponsorship.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid internship with an hourly rate of $28 to $35 per hour. The role is eligible for overtime.
- The position follows a hybrid work model. You must live within a commutable distance to one of our offices in Chicago, Saint Louis, Detroit, Minneapolis, Pittsburgh, or Philadelphia.
