Internal Audit Intern

About the role#

Worthington Enterprises is seeking a detail-oriented intern to join the internal audit team. This role provides hands-on experience in evaluating internal controls, risk management processes, and regulatory compliance within a manufacturing environment. This is a paid, part-time position available on a rolling basis throughout the school year.

What you'll do#

• Assist in conducting internal audit procedures, including testing controls, reviewing documentation, and performing data analysis.
• Participate in walkthroughs and interviews with process owners to identify business processes and control weaknesses.
• Prepare audit workpapers and draft reports detailing findings and recommendations.
• Collaborate with team members to develop risk assessment matrices and audit programs.
• Conduct research on industry best practices and regulatory requirements to support audit execution.
• Monitor remediation efforts for audit findings and support special department projects.

What you'll need#

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's degree program in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to evaluate complex information.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented approach with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
