About the role#
WinnCompanies is seeking a Development Asset Management Intern to join our corporate team in Boston. You will work with the VP of Development Asset Management on analytical projects to help execute key residential real estate development metrics. This role also supports the development accounting process from initial offer through acquisition, construction, and cost certification.
What you'll do#
- Assist with routine processes for development projects from inception to project completion.
- Produce and maintain portfolio-wide deal analytics for the development, finance, and asset management teams.
- Research limited partnership and other key deal documents to maintain the business pipeline report.
- Upload closing documents and project materials to central database portals.
- Prepare materials for development team meetings.
- Assist with monthly reconciliations and ad-hoc analyses for project decisions.
- Support Development Accounting with weekly funding requests, journal entries, and processing payables.
- Perform quarterly and annual financial reporting across the active development portfolio.
- Update Excel schedules to monitor deal performance and development cost allocations.
- Track and reconcile predevelopment costs prior to property acquisition.
- Assist in preparing year-end audit packages and gathering CPA firm information requests.
- Manage the review and distribution of development accounting mail.
What you'll need#
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- A strong understanding of accounting fundamentals.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
- A proactive approach to completing tasks and communicating with the team.
- Must be able to legally work in the United States.
- Previous work experience is preferred.
Location & details#
- This position is based in Boston, Massachusetts.
- The role is on-site, Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
- This is a paid, temporary internship with a pay range of $20.00 to $25.00 per hour.
