About the role#
Wing is looking for a Simulation Engineering Intern to join our Simulation and Evaluation team in Palo Alto. This team builds the tools that allow engineers to develop, test, and deploy features at scale. You will work on vehicle physics, sensor modeling, and large-scale simulation frameworks. Your work helps ensure simulation remains the most reliable way to test system changes and speed up feature development.
What you'll do#
- Use real-world flight data to validate flight software.
- Build closed-loop simulation environments using flight telemetry to enable counterfactual rollouts and policy evaluation for RL-based flight autonomy.
- Run critical experiments using large-scale simulation and data pipelines.
- Draw actionable engineering insights and contribute to a team focused on your growth.
- Help Wing scale operations more rapidly.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Vision, Robotics, or Electrical Engineering.
- Expected graduation date between December 2027 and August 2028.
- Previous engineering experience from internships, academic work, or extracurricular projects.
- A strong grasp of dynamical systems, linear algebra, 3D geometry, and vision-based autonomy.
- Experience with C++ or Python.
- Experience using numerical or statistics libraries to analyze real-world data.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
