About the role#
WhoWhatWhy is looking for an intern to join our election integrity team. You will cover threats to free and fair elections in the United States through the midterm period. This is a volunteer, remote role designed for college students or recent graduates who want to build their journalistic portfolio.
What you'll do#
- Write news articles ranging from wire-service style pieces to investigative stories.
- Receive training in reporting and editorial processes from mentors with experience at national and regional publications.
- Attend live Zoom calls for instruction and discussion with your mentor and peers.
- Develop your own bylines and build a portfolio of published work.
What you'll need#
- Status as a college student or recent graduate.
- Previous reporting and writing experience.
- Ability to commit 10-15 hours per week.
- Interest in subjects like Journalism, Communications, Political Science, English, or History.
Location & details#
- This position is fully remote.
- The term runs through the Fall 2026 semester.
- This is an unpaid, volunteer position.
