About the role#
WhiteWater is hiring Mechanical Engineering Interns for a 4-month term starting in January 2027. You will work from our head office in Richmond under the guidance of a Professional Engineer. This role supports our Engineering Services team with design documentation, CAD modeling, and continuous improvement projects.
What you'll do#
- Transition existing designs from legacy systems into the PLM database.
- Create CAD models, fabrication part drawings, assembly drawings, AutoCAD mechanical schematics, and Bills of Material.
- Analyze worldwide materials standards and perform calculations to propose substitutions.
- Mark up existing drawings to identify parts for the PLM system.
- Maintain and rework existing parts, assemblies, and drawings to meet current protocols.
- Perform materials testing in the lab.
- Follow existing protocols for file storage and part creation.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in or recent completion of post-secondary design education, such as Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics.
- Proficiency with SolidWorks.
- Experience with Microsoft Office.
- Legal eligibility to work in Canada.
- CSWA certification and knowledge of ASME Y14.100 drawing standards are preferred.
