About the role#
We are looking for a Geospatial AI Intern for the Fall 2026 term. This role is based in our Huntsville, Alabama office and focuses on applying machine learning and data science to real-world geospatial projects. You will work alongside lidar analysts, GIS analysts, and data scientists to solve technical problems for our clients.
What you'll do#
- Clean and prepare geospatial data, including lidar, satellite imagery, and vector datasets.
- Support the development and evaluation of AI and machine learning models.
- Build and test automation pipelines and geospatial workflows.
- Create maps and summaries to visualize AI model results.
- Document your code, findings, and processes in a reproducible way.
- Participate in team meetings and technical brainstorming sessions.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a 4-year degree program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or a related STEM field.
- Completed coursework in data structures, machine learning fundamentals, or programming, with a preference for Python.
- Familiarity with GIS platforms like ArcGIS Pro or QGIS.
- Experience using Git or GitHub for version control.
- Exposure to machine learning libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
