About the role#
The Student Central Officer works within the Office of the Registrar at Western University. This is a 1-year temporary full-time contract position covering a leave of absence. You will serve as a lead for student inquiries and administrative processes while supporting the broader Student Central team.
What you'll do#
- Manage email, chat, phone, and Zoom inquiries from students.
- Process official documents including Western ONECards, transcripts, and third-party forms.
- Supervise and support student staff members.
- Act as a resource for Student Central Assistants.
- Update and maintain training and operational materials.
- Provide guidance to staff and students during unique or non-standard situations.
What you'll need#
- An undergraduate degree.
- Three years of administrative experience in a customer service environment.
- Two years of administrative experience in a post-secondary setting is preferred.
- One year of experience in a supervisory or coaching role is preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and comfort troubleshooting basic technical issues.
- Familiarity with PeopleSoft or similar Higher Education databases and CRM systems like Salesforce.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to handle sensitive student issues professionally.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and work independently with high accuracy.
- Understanding of confidentiality requirements and university registrar services.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Location & details#
- This role is based in Ontario, Canada.
- The position is fully on-site.
- You will work 35 hours per week.
- Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours is required during peak periods in January and from summer through September.
