About the role#
This internship supports the Capital Projects team with the execution of senior housing renovation and capital projects. You will gain hands-on experience in the construction project lifecycle while working alongside experienced team members. This role provides practical exposure to contractor coordination, project planning, and site operations.
What you'll do#
- Support Project Managers with day-to-day coordination, including tracking schedules, milestones, and action items.
- Participate in project meetings and site visits with contractors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to observe construction activities, safety, and quality.
- Maintain project documentation such as scopes of work, drawings, contracts, change orders, and schedules.
- Prepare weekly project updates and status reports to communicate progress, risks, and outstanding items.
- Assist with project close-out activities and ensure project files are complete.
- Gain exposure to project budgets and the overall capital project lifecycle.
What you'll need#
- Current sophomore or junior status pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Construction Management or a related field.
- Interest in construction, project management, commercial real estate, or capital improvement projects.
- Basic understanding of construction processes, drawings, or scheduling.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively with project teams and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Ability and willingness to visit active construction and project sites.
Location & details#
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Modality: On-site (daily presence required at project sites or office).
- Employment: Full-time, paid internship.
