As a Social Work Intern, you will work under the direction of a licensed social worker to provide biopsychosocial assessments and clinical interventions. This role involves delivering both individual and group therapy, as well as providing case management to help patients access essential services and adhere to their treatment plans.
What you'll do#
- Provide mental health and chemical dependency treatment, including assessments and clinical services.
- Coordinate patient referrals for substance abuse treatment, housing, and social services such as Medicaid, Medicare, SSI, SSD, and transportation assistance.
- Develop individualized care plans and educate patients on treatment options and their rights.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in patient records according to clinic policies.
- Participate in regular case conferences for supervision and contribute to quality management, safety, and infection control programs.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor of Social Work degree.
- Knowledge of addiction medicine principles and mental health clinical practices.
- Familiarity with community resources and referral agencies.
- Strong interviewing skills to elicit information and foster cooperation from patients.
- Experience or training with diverse patient populations and various modes of service delivery in mental health or chemical dependency is preferred.
