About the role#
The Clinical Pharmacy Intern supports the Mobile Access Pharmacy Program (MAPP) by assisting with clinical services, medication access initiatives, and operational workflows. This role provides exposure to population health, mobile healthcare delivery, and community-based pharmacy practice. You will work under the supervision of pharmacists to provide patient-centered care and support program development.
What you'll do#
- Assist pharmacists with patient outreach, follow-up activities, and continuity of care support.
- Support patient scheduling and appointment coordination for pharmacist-led clinical services.
- Perform medication reconciliation, medication history collection, and chart reviews to prepare for Medication Therapy Management (MTM) encounters.
- Identify patients who may benefit from pharmacist-led services through referral reviews or mobile health encounters.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives, workflow optimization, and operational program development.
- Maintain accurate documentation, patient tracking logs, and operational records in compliance with institutional policies and HIPAA standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ACPE-accredited Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program.
- Active Michigan Pharmacy Intern License or eligibility for licensure prior to hire.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Interest in community-based clinical pharmacy services, medication access, population health, and public health initiatives.
- Comfort working within hybrid, office-based, and community-based care models.
