About the role#
The Clinical Pharmacy Intern supports the Mobile Access Pharmacy Program (MAPP) by assisting with pharmacist-led clinical services, medication access initiatives, and population health efforts. This role functions as both a clinical support team member and an operational resource, providing exposure to mobile healthcare delivery, quality improvement, and public health-focused pharmacy practice. The position requires a collaborative approach within interdisciplinary teams including pharmacists, physicians, nurses, and community health workers.
What you'll do#
- Assist pharmacists with patient outreach, follow-up activities, and continuity of care support.
- Support patient scheduling, appointment coordination, and workflow management for clinical services.
- Perform medication reconciliation, collect medication histories, and prepare for Medication Therapy Management (MTM) encounters.
- Identify patients who may benefit from pharmacist-led services through chart and referral reviews.
- Assist with quality improvement initiatives, workflow optimization, and operational program development.
- Support the coordination of medication-related supplies, inventory tracking, and logistics for community events.
- Maintain accurate patient tracking, operational logs, and clinical documentation in compliance with institutional policies and HIPAA standards.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an ACPE-accredited Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program.
- Active Michigan Pharmacy Intern License or eligibility for licensure prior to hire.
- Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Interest in community-based clinical pharmacy services, medication access, population health, and public health initiatives.
- Comfort working within hybrid, office-based, and community-based care models.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
