About the role#
The Product Engineer Co-Op program offers students the chance to apply classroom knowledge to real-world engineering projects. You will work alongside experienced engineers to support the development, improvement, testing, and documentation of products used in residential, commercial, industrial, and municipal water systems. This role provides hands-on experience across the product development lifecycle, from concept generation to manufacturing implementation.
What you'll do#
- Assist in the design and development of new products and product improvements.
- Create and update engineering documentation, including CAD models, drawings, specifications, bills of materials, and test reports.
- Support engineering analyses to evaluate product concepts, performance, and feasibility.
- Participate in product testing and validation activities, including data collection and documentation.
- Assist with comparative product testing and evaluation.
- Utilize 3D CAD software to develop and revise designs.
- Support Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA) initiatives.
- Organize engineering data, test results, and project documentation.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Supply Chain, Regulatory, and Product Management teams.
- Assist engineering staff with technical problem-solving and project execution.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Sophomore, Junior, or Senior standing with a minimum GPA of 3.0 preferred.
- Familiarity with engineering design principles and product development processes.
- Experience with 3D CAD software, with Autodesk Inventor preferred.
- Basic understanding of engineering drawings and GD&T concepts.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without requiring sponsorship.
- Preferred: Prior internship, co-op, or laboratory experience; exposure to FEA, CFD, or Design of Experiments; familiarity with manufacturing processes, materials selection, or water systems.
Location & details#
- This is a full-time, paid position at $25.00/hr.
- The role is based in North Andover, Massachusetts.
- Work is hybrid, requiring three days in the office (Monday through Wednesday) and two days remote (Thursday and Friday).
