About the role#
As a Manufacturing Quality Intern, you will join the Manufacturing Engineering team to support factory transformation and product line optimization. This role provides hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment, focusing on real-world engineering challenges and cross-functional collaboration. You will report to the Quality and Sustaining Engineer Supervisor.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate on factory transformation initiatives, including workflow modernization, technology integration, and process improvements.
- Support the optimization of the MCX/MCX2 product line through data analysis, process mapping, and continuous improvement strategies.
- Assist in redesigning the production floor layout to improve safety, ergonomics, and operational efficiency.
- Provide support for cross-functional engineering projects, including testing, documentation, and implementation.
- Participate in team meetings, project reviews, and brainstorming sessions.
- Deliver a final presentation to the leadership team summarizing your outcomes, contributions, and learnings.
What you'll need#
- Current junior or senior student pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Engineering, preferably in Industrial, Mechanical, Process, or Manufacturing Engineering.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a hands-on approach to learning.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Commitment to integrity, respect, and accountability.
- Understanding of and adherence to safety practices, regulations, and company policies.
- Exposure to Lean Manufacturing principles, Continuous Improvement methodologies, and Lean Six Sigma tools.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
- Ability to successfully complete background checks and pre-employment testing.
Location & details#
- Location: Fort Myers, Florida.
- Modality: On-site at the manufacturing facility.
- Term: Summer 2027.
- Status: Full-time internship.
- Compensation: $22 - $26 per hour, depending on skills and qualifications.
- Physical requirements include the ability to stand for long periods, move around the manufacturing floor, and lift or carry up to 30 pounds.
