About the role#
Waterfall Asset Management is offering a 10-week summer internship program for undergraduate students. This role provides exposure to investment management through structured training and hands-on experience. You will participate in a firm orientation and training program covering debt cash flow modeling and bond math. During the program, you will rotate through two investment strategies to gain transaction experience across verticals such as private credit, commercial real estate loans, and various asset-backed securities.
What you'll do#
- Work with senior portfolio managers and investment teams on all aspects of the investment process, including due diligence, transaction modeling, underwriting, investment memo creation, and trade or deal execution.
- Participate in structured credit classes that introduce various asset-backed and mortgage-backed securities.
- Complete a final project that involves presenting a live investment opportunity with a full underwrite to the firm Investment Committee, including firm Partners and Managing Partners.
What you'll need#
- Current pursuit of an undergraduate degree with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Minimum 3.75 GPA.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Knowledge of finance and capital markets with a demonstrated interest in the field.
- Ability to perform in a rapidly changing environment.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, meet deadlines, and drive projects to completion.
- Coding experience is preferred but not required.
