Summer Analyst MBA

About the role#

The Summer Analyst MBA program at Waterfall Asset Management provides hands-on exposure to core investment processes within an alternative asset manager. This 10-week program includes a firm-wide orientation and a targeted training curriculum covering debt cash-flow modeling, bond mathematics, and structured credit. You will work directly with senior portfolio managers and investment teams to gain practical experience in specialty finance and credit investing.

What you'll do#

• Complete two four-week rotations across different investment strategies, such as Private Credit, CRE Loans, CRE Equity, and various trading desks.
• Collaborate with investment teams on all aspects of the investment process, including due diligence, transaction modeling, underwriting, and the creation of investment memos.
• Assist in trade and deal execution.
• Present a final project to the firm’s Investment Committee, featuring a full underwrite of a live, real-time investment opportunity.

What you'll need#

• Currently pursuing an MBA degree with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
• Minimum 3.75 GPA or program equivalent.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with a solid foundation in finance and capital markets.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task, manage time effectively, and meet deadlines.
• Experience with coding languages is preferred but not required.
