About the role#
The Summer Analyst MBA program at Waterfall Asset Management offers hands-on exposure to core investment processes within an alternative asset manager. This 10-week program provides practical transaction experience, advanced financial modeling exposure, and direct interaction with senior investment professionals. The program begins with a firm-wide orientation and a training curriculum covering debt cash-flow modeling, bond mathematics, and structured credit.
What you'll do#
- Complete two four-week rotations across different investment strategies, such as private credit, CRE loans, CRE equity, or various trading desks.
- Collaborate with senior portfolio managers and investment teams on all aspects of the investment process.
- Conduct due diligence, transaction modeling, underwriting, investment memo creation, and support trade or deal execution.
- Present a final project to the firm’s Investment Committee, which involves a full underwrite of a live investment opportunity.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an MBA degree with an expected graduation date between December 2027 and June 2028.
- Strong academic performance with a minimum 3.75 GPA or program equivalent.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- Knowledge of finance and capital markets with a demonstrated interest in the field.
- Ability to perform in a rapidly changing environment.
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Ability to multitask, drive projects to completion, and meet deadlines.
- Experience with coding languages is preferred but not required.
