About the role#
As a Manufacturing Engineer Co-op at our Body in White operations in Kings Mountain, you will help improve process stability, efficiency, quality, and safety. You will join a hands-on team focused on redesigning processes, tools, and fixtures while strengthening standards for long-term success. This is a paid, full-time position for the Winter 2027 term.
What you'll do#
- Conduct time studies and analyze production data to identify improvement opportunities.
- Support process restoration and standardization to improve flow, cycle times, and operational stability.
- Assist with fixture and tooling evaluation for BIW assembly equipment.
- Help implement digital tools and visual management solutions to improve problem-solving and decision-making.
- Participate in kaizen workshops and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with manufacturing engineers and production teams to deliver measurable results.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a B.S. degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Manufacturing, or a related engineering field.
- Minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.75.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work hands-on in a production environment.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach to learning.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Exposure to lean manufacturing, time studies, or industrial engineering methods is preferred.
- Experience with Office 365, Power BI, Power Automate, or AI tools is a plus.
- Previous academic or internship experience in automotive or manufacturing is preferred.

- Hourly compensation: $17.00 - $46.00 per hour.
