About the role#
The Internal Communications Intern will support the Service Operations and Technology team at our Greensboro office. You will gain hands-on experience in corporate communications by assisting with internal messaging, digital platform management, and employee engagement initiatives. This role reports to the Communications Director and provides exposure to business operations within the motor vehicle manufacturing industry.
What you'll do#
- Draft, edit, and proofread internal announcements, newsletters, and digital screen content.
- Create visual or multimedia assets, including graphics and short videos, to support campaigns.
- Manage content on internal platforms like SharePoint, email distribution lists, and digital TVs.
- Monitor communication boards and displays to ensure content remains relevant.
- Assemble welcome packages and coordinate materials for new employee onboarding.
- Support employee recognition programs and help organize events such as town halls and team celebrations.
- Assist with visitor hosting by preparing signage and welcome materials.
- Collect engagement metrics and feedback through surveys or other tools.
- Maintain file organization, content calendars, and tracking logs.
- Submit weekly summaries of your learning experiences and deliver formal project presentations to management.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Communications or Marketing degree program at an accredited school.
- Completion of at least 30 semester hours of undergraduate studies prior to the start date.
- A cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple assignments with precision.
- Familiarity with visual communication tools and basic video content creation.
- A collaborative, reliable, and accountable approach to team environments.
