About the role#
As a Social Media Marketing Intern, you will work with our Marketing and Partnerships Coordinator to develop and distribute content across our social channels. You will focus primarily on Instagram, helping to manage posting schedules, edit video, and bring creative ideas to our digital presence. This role is a chance to build a content portfolio and gain experience in social media, content creation, and brand storytelling.
What you'll do#
- Create and post daily content for Instagram, including Reels, Stories, and feed posts.
- Edit short-form video using mobile or desktop tools.
- Maintain a consistent brand voice and visual aesthetic across all channels.
- Monitor social media trends and brainstorm ways to apply them to our brand.
- Schedule posts and assist with tracking performance metrics.
- Participate in creative meetings and contribute new ideas.
- Handle light graphic design and caption writing.
- Engage with community comments and direct messages.
- Attend Volo leagues to capture photo and video content.
What you'll need#
- Strong knowledge of Instagram, TikTok, and current social media trends.
- Experience with video editing on a phone or desktop.
- Familiarity with creative tools like Canva, CapCut, and Adobe Suite.
- A creative approach to storytelling.
- Attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage deadlines.
- Availability to attend Volo leagues 1 to 2 weeknights per week for content capture.
- Experience with sports, rec leagues, or community-based content is a bonus.
- Pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, or Media Studies.
