About the role#
The Machine Learning Fellowship at Volkswagen Group provides an opportunity to work within the Innovation and Engineering Center California. This role focuses on applying machine learning techniques to automotive challenges, including autonomous driving and manufacturing. You will support a team of researchers and engineers to develop methods for robust perception and sensor data processing.
What you'll do#
- Manage data pre-processing tasks including label verification and data formatting.
- Assist the team in building data pipelines for training deep neural networks.
- Benchmark and report on the performance of various neural network models.
- Research new network architectures for time series prediction and anomaly detection.
- Investigate neural networks for interpreting camera images, including object detection and panoptic segmentation.
- Explore supervised and unsupervised learning methods to estimate motion, depth, and velocity.
- Work on the fusion of neural networks to optimize memory and computational efficiency.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Masters or PhD program, or graduation within the last six months.
- A cumulative GPA of at least 3.0.
- Strong programming skills in Python.
- Experience working in a Linux environment.
- Proficiency with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.
- Academic background in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, or Electrical Engineering.
