About the role#
Vale is hiring Geophysics Co-op students to join our Exploration and Mineral Projects team in Sudbury, Ontario. This is a full-time, on-site position for the Winter or Summer 2027 terms. You will work alongside our exploration, geophysics, and geology teams to support active exploration programs.
What you'll do#
- Attend safety meetings and complete all required safety training.
- Assist with the planning and execution of geophysical field work.
- Collect and compile data during office studies and field surveys.
- Perform routine data processing and monitor project schedules.
- Maintain geophysical survey databases and GIS projects.
- Assist senior personnel with technical tasks using standard geophysical procedures.
- Prepare written, oral, or graphical reports to summarize results and recommendations.
What you'll need#
- Enrollment in your second year or higher of a bachelor's degree program in Geology, Geophysics, or Geological Engineering. Students in Master's or PhD programs are welcome.
- Ability to participate in field programs, which requires physical capability.
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, including Teams, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
- Strong communication skills.
- Familiarity with geophysical software and programming experience are considered assets.
