Innovative Education Studios (InEd Studios) at the University of South Florida is seeking a Virtual Production & 3D Animation Student Assistant to support the creation of multimedia content for online courses and university initiatives. This role offers hands-on experience in a professional studio environment, working with advanced technology including a custom LED volume. This is a paid, on-site position for up to 20 hours per week, with a schedule flexible around classes.
What you'll do#
- Support the virtual production team on LED Volume/ICVFX shoots, including camera tracking, Unreal Engine scene operation, motion capture, and on-set troubleshooting.
- Assist with 3D asset creation and environment building for virtual sets and animated content.
- Manage post-production tasks including video editing, rendering, animation, compositing, and motion graphics.
- Participate in pre-production activities such as scheduling, virtual production scouting, pre-light, previz, and script writing.
- Assist on productions both in studio and on location.
What you'll need#
- Must be a degree-seeking student in good academic standing at the University of South Florida, preferably in Graphic Design, Media Studies, Computer Science, or Art.
- Experience with Unreal Engine, including virtual production, nDisplay, or real-time rendering workflows.
- Proficiency in video editing using Adobe Premiere and After Effects.
- Experience with 3D modeling or sculpting tools such as Blender, Maya, or ZBrush.
- Strong interest in virtual production, animation, and emerging 3D/AI workflows.
- Ability to learn new tools and hardware in a fast-changing live production environment.
- Excellent writing, researching, proofreading, and editing skills.

- Location: Tampa, Florida.
