About the role#
As a Transmission Civil- Structural Engineer Intern at Ulteig, you will support the planning and design of high-voltage infrastructure projects. You will work within the Power Delivery group to help design transmission lines ranging from 69kV to 345kV. This role provides hands-on experience in utility design standards and the consulting engineering process.
What you'll do#
- Collaborate with engineers on the design of transmission systems, including wood and steel poles, foundations, and overhead structures.
- Perform structural and foundation calculations under supervision.
- Use industry tools and software, such as PLS-CADD, to support transmission line studies and layouts.
- Assist in preparing drawings, reports, and technical documentation.
- Participate in team meetings and professional training sessions.
- Engage in optional field or site visits.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in Civil, Structural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- Minimum of two years of coursework completed by Summer 2027.
- Ability to work full-time during Summer 2027.
- Strong communication skills and a desire to work in a collaborative, client-focused environment.
- Prior experience or coursework in structural analysis, steel design, or concrete design is preferred.
- AutoCAD experience is preferred.

- Work modality is on-site.
