About the role#
This is a 10-week summer internship program based in our New York City office. You will work on a single project with an assigned mentor, culminating in a final presentation. Interns are hired into a general software engineering role and matched to a specific team a few months before the start date. You will have access to company events, guest speaker series, and intern-specific social activities.
What you'll do#
- Build underlying infrastructure used by engineering teams, including distributed storage and cloud environments.
- Ensure the reliability of mission-critical products and systems, such as our main trading system.
- Use open-source and proprietary tools to build environments for testing and deploying quantitative strategies.
- Build and maintain low-latency, high-performance infrastructure for executing trades.
- Scale infrastructure to ingest data from over 10,000 sources daily.
- Partner with corporate teams to develop tools and systems that increase organizational productivity.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD program in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics.
- Experience with Java, C, C++, Python, Ruby, Perl, or other languages that target the JVM.
- Experience working with large-scale systems.
- Strong programming, analytical, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- A focus on building quality software.

- Compensation: Weekly base pay is $3,800 for Bachelor’s students, $3,900 for Master’s students, and $4,200 for PhD students.
