About the role#
This Student Technologist in Training position offers hands-on experience for students currently enrolled in an accredited ultrasound program. Working at Bethesda Butler Hospital, you will gain clinical skills and work alongside experienced sonographers in a patient-focused environment. This is a PRN role with variable shifts and no weekends, holidays, or on-call requirements.
What you'll do#
- Provide direct patient care, including patient observation, transport, and assistance with personal needs.
- Schedule patient appointments and maintain accurate records.
- Support department operations by coordinating patient flow and assisting technologists.
- Perform daily and monthly quality control procedures on equipment and ensure reliable performance.
- Recognize patient status changes and call for appropriate assistance.
- Comply with all infection prevention procedures and safety protocols.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an approved Allied Health program of study (Nursing, Biomedical Sciences, Health Administration, or Pharmaceutical Sciences).
- Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) certification.
- CPR certification.
- Knowledge of Radiation Safety.
- Up to 1 year of experience.
