Respiratory Therapy Tech Student - Optional

About the role#

This is a temporary position for students currently enrolled in an accredited Respiratory Therapy program. The role serves as a support position for licensed Respiratory Care Practitioners (RCPs) until the student obtains a limited permit from the State Medical Board of Ohio. You will assist licensed staff in patient care settings and develop assessment skills under their direct supervision.

What you'll do#

• Assemble equipment and circuitry with all required supplies and accessories.
• Clean and disinfect department equipment according to infection control guidelines.
• Transport supplies to and from central processing.
• Maintain inventory levels in storerooms and provide necessary supplies to licensed RCPs.
• Demonstrate proficiency in performing EKGs and other clinical activities as directed by a licensed RCP.

What you'll need#

• Current enrollment in an accredited Respiratory Therapy program or an approved Allied Health program.
• Foundational knowledge of cardiopulmonary physiology, respiratory care sciences, and relevant pharmacology.
• Ability to perform physical tasks including frequent standing, walking, and lifting up to 10 lbs, with occasional lifting of 11-50 lbs.

• Location: Bethesda North Hospital, Cincinnati, Ohio.
• Schedule: Optional; preference for night shifts with rotating weekends and holidays.
• Employment type: Full-time.
