About the role#
The Claim Professional Development Program Internship offers a way to gain business experience in the insurance industry. You will work with a manager and mentor to build your skills in claims handling. This is a full-time, paid position based in Orlando, Florida, with applications reviewed on a rolling basis.
What you'll do#
- Complete a structured onboarding process to learn Travelers systems and protocols.
- Review Personal and Business Insurance claims of basic to moderate complexity.
- Learn strategies for investigating, negotiating, and resolving claims.
- Determine coverage, scope losses, and complete damage estimates.
- Observe claim professionals through desk work and ride-alongs.
- Develop your customer service, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
- Complete project work throughout the term.
What you'll need#
- A Bachelor's degree or current enrollment in a Bachelor's program.
- A preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- An interest in pursuing a career in the insurance industry.
- Preferred majors include Business Administration or related business disciplines.
- You must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without sponsorship.
