About the role#
The Bond & Specialty Underwriting Professional Development Program (BSI UPDP) Internship offers an introduction to the property and casualty insurance industry. You will gain hands-on experience in underwriting, which involves gathering information and using analytical skills to evaluate business risk. Underwriters also act as relationship managers for agents and clients.
This program lasts 10 to 12 weeks, beginning in late May or early June and concluding in mid-August.
What you'll do#
- Complete project work and core assignments to build your knowledge of insurance underwriting, sales, and marketing.
- Use modern analytical and artificial intelligence tools.
- Apply critical thinking to evaluate the quality and accuracy of AI-assisted outputs.
- Participate in the Enterprise Internship experience, including the Executive Speaker Series, networking events, and the Rising Senior Intern Symposium.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Pursuing or obtained a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Management, Marketing, Risk Management and Insurance, or Liberal Arts with a business focus.
- A preferred cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
