About the role#
Trajan Wealth is hiring Tax Interns for our Scottsdale office. This role supports our CPA practice by providing hands-on experience in tax preparation and general accounting. You will work directly with our team to manage client tax needs and financial reporting during our busy season.
What you'll do#
You will prepare individual and business tax returns including forms 1040, 1120C, 1120S, 1065, and 1041. Your tasks include data entry, tax research, and client follow-up. You will assist with year-end filings such as 1099s, W-2/W-3 forms, sales tax, and personal property tax. You will also support financial statement preparation by posting journal entries, reconciling bank and credit card accounts, managing invoicing, and tracking accounts payable and receivable. Staying current on federal and state tax law changes is a core part of the role.
What you'll need#
Candidates should be enrolled in or have completed a degree in accounting, finance, or business administration. You need a basic understanding of tax laws and must have completed individual taxation coursework. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, is required. We prefer candidates who are CPA eligible or have previous accounting experience. Success in this role requires strong attention to detail and a commitment to client service.
Location & details#
This internship is located in Scottsdale, Arizona. It is an on-site, paid position at a rate of 25 dollars per hour. The term runs from January 2027 through the end of April 2027. We prefer full-time availability but can accommodate class schedules with a minimum of 20 working hours per week.
