About the role#
As a Summer 2027 Treasury Intern in Houston, you will gain practical experience supporting over 75 U.S. affiliates and joint ventures. You will work under the guidance of experienced treasury professionals to manage cash flows for TEHUSA and entities overseen by TEAS Treasury. This role focuses on safeguarding assets and supporting operations by adhering to the company internal control framework for Treasury Management. You will work from our Corporate Office in downtown Houston.
What you'll do#
- Support daily cash management, including monitoring and reporting on cash positions.
- Monitor TEHUSA cash balances and ensure daily liquidity.
- Provide core treasury payment support, including manual and batch wire/ACH payment initiation and release, positive pay files, and EFT payments.
- Assist in the daily TEHUSA cash poll forecasting process.
- Maintain the Shared Services Bank Listing file and ensure external bank accounts and services remain in good standing.
- Collaborate to optimize usage of the Quantum TMS tool.
- Support documentation requirements for new accounts and services.
- Help manage internal debt agreements for all U.S. affiliates.
- Prepare Power BI reports on daily cash positions and contribute to monthly TEAS finance reports.
- Liaise with General Accounting and the SSC Manila team for reconciliation.
- Monitor TECUSA and TEHUSA financial instruments, including shelf bonds, commercial papers, deposits, and intercompany loans.
- Perform duties within the internal control framework and ensure compliance with Treasury SOX controls, including quarterly Quantum SOX controls.
- Support ad-hoc projects and company treasury initiatives.
What you'll need#
- Current degree plan in Finance, Accounting, or a related quantitative field with a GPA of 2.8 or higher.
- Strong analytical capabilities, attention to detail, and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally with accounting, legal, tax, and business teams.
- High level of organization and reliability in handling time-sensitive cash activities.
- Proficiency with IT tools and comfort working with financial systems.
- Self-motivation and a desire to identify improvement opportunities.
- Advanced Excel skills and Power BI experience are strong pluses.
