About the role#
This internship with TMEIC focuses on industrial systems and automation machinery. You will support engineering teams by providing technical support for software and hardware design. This position is for the Fall 2027 term and requires on-site attendance in Roanoke, Virginia.
What you'll do#
- Create and document industrial controller or computer-based software modules.
- Conduct simulations to verify that software modules meet design and project requirements.
- Create electrical drawings for projects, including circuits, power distribution, and sensor interfaces.
- Develop project documentation such as mechanical enclosure drawings and spare parts lists.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure software modules function correctly within the overall project.
- Provide regular status reports on your assigned tasks.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in a BSEE, BSCPE, or BSME program or a related field, with coursework in control automation.
- Demonstrated problem solving skills.
- Experience building successful working relationships with others in educational or professional settings.
- Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Ability to travel domestically up to approximately 5% of the time.
