About the role#
This internship provides hands-on experience in design, plant operations, and fieldwork. You will gain a practical understanding of how precast concrete components come together. You will also demonstrate initiative by completing an independent engineering project.
What you'll do#
- Follow all safety and quality rules and processes.
- Complete the Tindall training program, including orientation and technical modules.
- Spend time in production, quality control, and the field.
- Perform structural design and analysis of precast concrete components and their connections.
- Complete an assigned engineering project independently to gather data and recommend performance improvements.
- Prepare a final report and present your findings to senior management.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
What you'll need#
- Active enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program for Civil Engineering at an ABET-accredited institution.
- A structural emphasis within your degree program.
- Completed coursework in structural engineering.
- CAD or 3D modeling experience is a plus.
- Participation in ASCE concrete canoe or AIAS design build projects is a plus.

- Location: Duncan, South Carolina.
- Work modality: On-site.
- Employment: Part-time, paid internship.
- Working environment: You will spend up to 50% of your time in outdoor or production environments, which may be loud and dusty.
