About the role#
The Commerce Ads team focuses on enhancing ad solutions to support businesses of all sizes and improve the consumer shopping experience on TikTok. This internship provides hands-on industry experience in developing backend systems that drive ad creation, delivery, and creative optimization. You will work on real-world projects that contribute to the platform's growth and shopping ecosystem.
What you'll do#
- Apply backend development techniques to optimize the end-to-end TikTok Ads solution, including ad creation, delivery, and format optimization.
- Improve the marketing experience for Shop Sellers.
- Collaborate directly with businesses to understand their needs and develop effective technical solutions.
- Work alongside Product Managers and Designers to explore and build the next generation of shopping experiences.
- Leverage organic shopping behaviors to create value for both users and the business.
What you'll need#
- Currently pursuing an Undergraduate or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong fundamentals in algorithms, data structures, and software design.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Golang, Java, C, or C++.
- Familiarity with databases (MySQL, Redis, etc.) and logging or testing frameworks.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team with strong communication skills.
- Preferred: Experience with ad systems or designing large-scale distributed systems.

- Compensation: $42.75 per hour
