About the role#
As a Software Engineer Co-Op at Thomson Reuters Special Services, you will work on projects that support and extend our suite of solutions. This role focuses on data-intensive systems and frontend UI development. You will have the opportunity to learn new technologies and engage in active development work.
What you'll do#
- Define, scope, and manage projects to ensure technical objectives are met.
- Learn new technologies, frameworks, and software development best practices.
- Participate in the review of technical specifications and the estimating process.
- Write well-constructed and well-tested code.
- Support programming changes during quality assurance and product rollouts.
What you'll need#
- Understanding of computer science principles and algorithms.
- Experience coding in Java or Python.
- Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing.
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
- A team-player mindset and a desire to continuously learn.
- U.S. Citizenship is required to comply with government contract requirements.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. national security clearance.
- Experience with React, JavaScript, TypeScript, or SQL is preferred.

- This is a full-time, on-site position based in Rochester, New York.
- The role is paid and follows a rolling term.
