About the role#
The SEC Network Digital Department serves as the central digital source for fans of the Southeastern Conference. This role supports the ESPN Programming Division by driving engagement to live events, fulfilling digital needs for the conference, and providing comprehensive studio content. Interns will work in a video-driven newsroom environment to manage digital content and workflows.
What you'll do#
- Publish and maintain editorial content across ESPN and SEC digital platforms using content management and proprietary publishing tools.
- Edit and package daily video content from SEC Network studio programming and live sporting events.
- Utilize HTML and web publishing tools to update, format, and optimize digital content.
- Create compelling written content across multiple sports while maintaining editorial standards.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures to support content workflows and publishing best practices.
What you'll need#
- Proficiency in English grammar and AP Style.
- Foundational news journalism experience and strong news judgment.
- Ability to monitor and assess social media activity to identify timely content opportunities.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills to prioritize multiple assignments.
- Demonstrated versatility in creating content across multiple sports.
- Enrollment in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Communications, Media Studies, Journalism, Graphic Design, or Public Health.
Location & details#
- Location: Charlotte, North Carolina.
- Term: Fall 2026 (September through December).
- Modality: On-site, 40 hours per week.
- Schedule: Ability to work days, nights, and weekends.
- Compensation: Paid at $22.50 per hour.
- Requirements: Must be at least 18 years of age and possess unrestricted work authorization.
