About the role#
The Electrical Technician Intern applies electrical and mechanical principles to support the fabrication and installation of equipment. You will work under limited supervision to assemble systems and resolve technical issues. This role involves periodic review of your output by a supervisor while allowing you to exercise independent judgment in your daily tasks.
What you'll do#
- Build and install trough, conduit, and control panels to meet design specifications.
- Assemble electrical and electronic systems using engineering data, hand tools, and measuring instruments.
- Troubleshoot control systems during fabrication, commissioning, and startup.
- Perform initial testing on all newly designed equipment before it ships to customers.
- Provide technical assistance to resolve electrical or engineering problems.
- Inspect and clean equipment as needed.
What you'll need#
- Current enrollment in an undergraduate or associate degree program in Electronics Engineering, Applied Electrical Technology, or Engineering Technology.
- Basic knowledge of low and high voltage electrical systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical schematics, and wiring diagrams.
- Practical experience bending, running, and attaching rigid conduit.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to safety.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
