About the role#
As a Paraprofessional with Student Transportation, you will work alongside classroom instructors to provide targeted teaching and support for students. This role involves a dual focus on classroom management and safe student transportation. You will assist in maintaining a secure learning environment while providing necessary transportation services to and from school, as well as during school hours as needed.
What you'll do#
- Manage classroom behaviors and assist in the prevention and management of non-compliance or behavioral escalation.
- Provide student transportation before and after school, and during school hours using school vans or buses.
- Implement and maintain behavioral program policies and data.
- Report behavioral concerns and safety issues to appropriate staff.
- Maintain classroom order, provide general supervision, and respond to emergency situations.
- Think independently to provide interventions that assist students in managing their behaviors.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be age 23 or older.
- Valid Driver's License with a Passenger Endorsement, or the ability to obtain one.
- Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.
- Patience and a willingness to work with students who require behavioral and emotional support.
- Ability to pass drug and criminal background screening procedures.
- Punctuality and a consistent work history.
- Preferred majors include Psychology or Sociology.
