Paraprofessional with Student Transportation

About the role#

As a Paraprofessional with Student Transportation, you will work alongside classroom instructors to provide targeted teaching and support for students. This role involves a dual focus on classroom management and safe student transportation. You will assist in maintaining a secure learning environment while providing necessary transportation services to and from school, as well as during school hours as needed.

What you'll do#

• Manage classroom behaviors and assist in the prevention and management of non-compliance or behavioral escalation.
• Provide student transportation before and after school, and during school hours using school vans or buses.
• Implement and maintain behavioral program policies and data.
• Report behavioral concerns and safety issues to appropriate staff.
• Maintain classroom order, provide general supervision, and respond to emergency situations.
• Think independently to provide interventions that assist students in managing their behaviors.

What you'll need#

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Must be age 23 or older.
• Valid Driver's License with a Passenger Endorsement, or the ability to obtain one.
• Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.
• Patience and a willingness to work with students who require behavioral and emotional support.
• Ability to pass drug and criminal background screening procedures.
• Punctuality and a consistent work history.
• Preferred majors include Psychology or Sociology.
