About the role#
As a Paraprofessional with Student Transportation, you will assist classroom instructors in providing support to students. You will balance time between classroom duties and driving school vehicles to transport students. This is a full-time, on-site position based in Aurora, Illinois.
What you'll do#
- Manage classroom behaviors and assist in the prevention of incidents.
- Provide student transportation before and after school, as well as during school hours as needed.
- Implement behavioral program policies and maintain relevant data.
- Report behavioral concerns to the appropriate staff members.
- Maintain classroom safety and security.
- Respond to emergency situations and provide behavioral interventions.
What you'll need#
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Valid Driver's License with a Passenger Endorsement, or the ability to obtain one.
- Acceptable Motor Vehicle Record.
- Must be at least 23 years old.
- Patience and a willingness to work with students who require behavioral and emotional support.
- Punctuality and a consistent work history.
- Ability to pass drug and criminal background screenings.
