Instructional Assistant with Student Transportation

About the role#

As an Instructional Assistant with Student Transportation, you will support classroom instructors by providing targeted teaching and supervision. This role involves both in-classroom support and the operation of a school van to transport students to and from school. You will work with high-risk special needs students in an environment focused on academic and social-emotional growth.

What you'll do#

• Manage classroom behaviors and provide interventions to assist students.
• Drive a school van to transport students to and from school Monday through Friday.
• Provide general supervision and maintain safety within the school setting.
• Report behavioral concerns to appropriate staff and document program data.
• Respond to emergency situations and incidents of non-compliance.
• Maintain alertness to identify and correct conditions that may disrupt the educational process.

What you'll need#

• Must be at least 23 years of age.
• A valid driver's license and a good driving record, with the willingness to operate a school van.
• Ability to work effectively with high-risk special needs students.
• A Bachelor's degree or Substitute Teacher Certification is preferred.
• Experience as a Registered Behavior Technician, Youth Worker, Mental Healthcare Technician, or ABA Technician is helpful.
• Background in security or juvenile justice is considered an asset.
• Ability to think independently, operate tactfully under stress, and adapt to changes in routine.

Location & details#

• Location: Phoenix, Arizona.
• Commitment: Full-time, 10-month school position with 12-month semi-monthly pay.
• Work Modality: On-site.
