1:1 Individual Student Aide

About the role#

As a 1:1 Individual Student Aide, you will provide targeted support to students within a classroom setting. This full-time position involves working closely with classroom instructors and staff to ensure students receive the necessary academic, behavioral, and functional support as outlined in their Individualized Education Programs (IEP). You will work a set schedule of 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, following the school calendar.

What you'll do#

• Monitor an assigned student to address academic, functional, behavioral, or safety needs under the supervision of licensed professional staff.
• Prepare and adapt classroom materials and maintain the learning environment in good order.
• Implement behavior program policies and track relevant data.
• Communicate social, emotional, or behavioral concerns to clinical staff.
• Coordinate with administration and staff to ensure consistent application of the academic and therapeutic program.
• Maintain student confidentiality and report safety concerns or unusual incidents to administration.
• Attend staff meetings and in-service training as required.

What you'll need#

• Must be at least 23 years of age.
• Ability to work effectively with high-risk special needs students.
• Flexibility to adapt to changing routines and the ability to operate tactfully under stress.
• Paraprofessional Certification is preferred but not required.
• Academic background in Psychology is relevant to this role.
